Hey there, friends! Are you like the rest of the world and love a good "before and after"? If so, then you are in the right place. Today I am going to be sharing my client's living room transformation with you, and I am so excited to finally do so. This reveal is a long time in the making, and is well worth the wait!
Sidenote: If you find yourself interested in any of the decor pieces seen in this post, then you are in luck. I have gathered all of these items and they are listed at the end of this post! Now to the the fun part- the photos!
My Starting Point:
The End Result:
A little background- My client, Becki had just moved into her custom dream home and was starting with a fairly blank slate. When Becki contacted me, she only had her large navy sofa, white area rug, and cow hide but needed help filling the rest of the empty space and making it feel like home. I was eager to start on this project knowing that Becki had a similar style to my own and that she was open to my suggestions. My client, like myself, loves modern yet classic, neutral design with a touch of farmhouse and Scandinavian flare.
For reference, here are a few before photos of the space sent by my client: Living Room Before:
I think I speak for all Interior Decorators/Designers when saying Becki's home is dream starting point. Brand new, beautiful, and SO much potential.
When I first received these photos, I immediately knew I wanted to add some shelving on each side of the fireplace, and needed to add some warmth to the space. Luckily for me, Becki had already purchased this transitional navy sofa from Basset Furniture (linked at the end of this post along with all other products) and this specific piece left us with many different floor plan options. As you can see in the before photos, the sofa can be arranged in a "U" shape, but it can also be turned into a traditional "L" shaped sectional, and even reassembled into 2 separate pieces. As you will see below, I decided to go ahead with the 2 facing couches in this design and I think it really opened the room up visually. My Original Design Boards:Living Room After:

Sooo, what do you guys think? Does Becki's home feel complete and cozy? That was my goal after all. I wanted to create a stylish, but still livable space. Becki has 3 little girls and I wanted to be sure that it still felt like home to them, and not like they were living in a museum. The leather storage bins on the bottom bookshelf are home to dolls and toys, but allow for easy clean up when needed, and this gorgeous leather ottoman can always be pushed aside to make room for play. By the way- that ottoman is my favorite piece, like EVER.
You may have caught a glimpse of the unfinished stairway nook in one of the photos above... That area is still a work in progress, but I will most definitely share the finished result once we get there!
So far the only pieces in the stairway nook are:

Very inviting!, with a nice array of color. Great for the kids also. The pillows on the sofa's in conjunction with the rugs makes we want to sit and indulge.
